ELDA Curriculum
Toddler's
The ELDA curriculum includes Year planning, Term Planning, Week Planning and Daily planning. All of these are developed according to the ELDAS as prescribed by the Department of Basic Education.
Early Learning and Development areas
Well-being - Focuses on children's emotional and physical health, including their ability to form secure relationships. This area is considered the key ELDA, supporting the development of and integrating with the other five areas. When children are well-nourished, enjoy good health, and are in a safe and secure environment, they thrive in their development and learning.
Identity and Belonging - Emphasizes the importance of children feeling accepted and valued in their environment, fostering a sense of community. This area helps children develop a sense of self and their place in the world, which is crucial for their social and emotional development.
Communication - Involves the development of language skills, including listening, speaking, and understanding. This area is vital for children's ability to express themselves and interact with others, forming the foundation for literacy and social interaction.
Exploring Mathematics - Promotes curiosity and the desire to explore mathematical concepts, encouraging children to engage in hands-on learning experiences. This area supports the development of problem-solving skills and logical thinking.
Creativity - Encourages children to express themselves through various forms of art, including visual arts, music, dance, and drama. This area supports the development of imagination and innovation, allowing children to explore and express their ideas.
Knowledge and Understanding of the World - Focuses on the development of thinking skills, problem-solving, and the ability to understand and manipulate concepts. This area encourages children to explore their environment and learn about the world around them, fostering a sense of curiosity and discovery.
These areas work together to support the overall growth and development of children in their early years, ensuring they are well-prepared for future learning and life experiences.
